Key Highway Closure Scheduled In San Marcos For Construction Work
Take note if you're going factory outlet mall shopping this Sunday or just headed to San Marcos; plot out alternate route, avoid headache.

AUSTIN, TX — If you're headed to the factory outlet malls or traveling to Texas State University in San Marco, Texas, this Sunday, you might want to take note of a key road closure bound to create traffic snarls.
Loop 82 (Aquarena Springs Drive) between Charles Austin Drive and Mill Street will be completely closed from 8 a.m. to 6 am. from Sunday, Sept. 9, through Monday, Sept. 10, to accommodate installation of steel and concrete bridge beams for a new overpass.
The same stretch of roadway will be closed from Sept. 11-19 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to Texas Department of Transportation officials.

All lanes of Loop 82 will be closed between Charles Austin Drive and Mill Street, including the Post Road intersection. Traffic will detour via Thorpe Lane and Charles Austin Drive.
Road signs will be in place to alert drivers of the closure. Motorists should allow extra time to travel through this area during the affected hours, TxDot officials said. Highway officials urge the traveling public to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
