Man Accused Of Masturbating In Front Of Child Near East Austin School
Rodrick Newsome, 36, was charged with indecency with a child, a third-degree felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — A man was arrested last week after being accused of masturbating in front of a woman and her child in East Austin, according to an arrest affidavit.
The Austin American-Statesman reported that Rodrick Newsome, 36, approached a woman who was walking with her four-year-old daughter from Norman Elementary School last Friday at around 3:15 p.m. A man later identified as Newsome is said to have approached them with his pants down to his knees and began to masturbate as he faced them.
The woman and her daughter ran away and reported the incident to police, according to the affidavit. While being interviewed by police, Newsome is said to have acknowledged approaching a woman and her child, but denied the masturbation part of the interaction.

Police didn't buy his story. He was booked into Travis County Jail with a charge of indecency with a child, a third-degree felony that is punishable by up to a decade in prison. His bail was set at $3,000.
