Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Child Arrested In East Austin

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- Law enforcement officials this week arrested one of their most wanted for alleged aggravated sexual assault on a child after he was seen walking along an East Austin street.

Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Alberto Morales, 42, after he was charged last week, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The suspect was spotted in the 1500 block of Holly Street near the corner of East Cesar Chavez and Comal Street and was promptly arrested without incident.

Law enforcement officials had learned Morales frequented that part of the city and staked the place out, the Statesman reports.

He’s now behind bars at the Travis County Jail. There was no immediate word on whether a bail had been set or its amount.
