Man Found Dead In East Austin Pond

AUSTIN, TX -- Emergency crews were called to a pond in East Austin after Monday night where a man was found dead after falling into the water with riding his lawn mower.

Medics responded to 6500 Tracor Lane near Ed Bluestein Boulevard shortly after 10 p.m.

The site is the location of aerospace company BAE Systems. EMS officials said they found the lawn mower in the water when they arrived and later found a man in his 20s dead.

The man has not been identified.

Police told the Austin American-Statesman the man may have been working on the lawn near the pond when he fell into the water.
