Police responded to the scene amid reports of an accident, later finding other driver nearby deceased inside his vehicle.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police are investigating the death of a man found in a vehicle Saturday morning with a gunshot wound wound after he fled from the scene of a wreck, law enforcement officials said.
Austin-Travis County EMS and police responded to the scene near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and E.M. Franklin Avenue just after 10 a.m., police said. Amid reports on the incident, police learned a motorist had left the scene of an accident, a police officer told reporters at a subsequent press conference.
Upon arrival, officers found a tan SUV south of MLK Boulevard along Greenwood Avenue. There, they found a deceased black male believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s, according to EMS officials. An investigation into the matter continues, with the findings expected to be released next week, police said.
