EAST AUSTIN, TX — A man wanted in Victoria, Texas, was recently captured in East Austin, according to a published report.

Hector Garcia, 49, of Austin, was wanted for failure to appear in court and jumping bail, according to KEYE-TV, before being arrested on Wednesday. Garcia was previously charged with negligent homicide in a hit-and-run wreck that left Natalie Luna, a mother of two, dead in 2015, according to the report. Garcia ultimately was acquitted in the case.

As KEYE reported, the 13th Court of Appeals in 2016 reversed certain appellate claims resulting in a new indictment for Garcia, which has led to him now scheduled to face trial. But he failed to appear for court hearings resulting in his arrest warrants being issued, the news station reported.
