Mettle Serves its Last Meal Sunday Night

The bistro will open in February under a new concept.

Mettle announced on Facebook that it would shut its doors Monday.

The French and New American bistro was the brainchild of Bridget Dunlap, Austin CultureMap reported. The restaurant will stay in the family and will likely reopen with a new concept in February.

“Dunlap ATX has made the decision to close Mettle effective Monday, January 4th, and will be repurposing the space with a new concept that is expected to open in early February. Thanks for all the memories and stay tuned for details!” Mettle announced on social media.

Mettle opened its doors in the summer of 2013 with much anticipation, but their decision to shut down was “based on lagging sales,” according to Austin CultureMap.
