Motorist Killed After Colliding Into Tree
The collision happened not far from the Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park, a popular recreational stop.

AUSTIN, TX -- A motorist died Saturday evening in the eastern part of the county after colliding into a tree, emergency officials said.
The collision occurred at the 10000 block of North FM 973 on March 26 at about 6 p.m. The victim was described as a man in his 50s.
The area is not far from the 1,200-acre Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park and adjacent lake, a popular fishing hole where people fish for bass, catfish and sunfish 14 miles outside of Austin.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said they arrived to see a man pinned to his vehicle, already dead at the scene.
No other details have been released. Officials at the Texas Department of Public Safety launched an investigation before the Easter holiday in trying to determine the cause of the crash.
