Natural Gas Power Outage Affects Several East Austin Blocks
Texas Gas Service utility members are going to individual homes and business to turn off meters, with outage in effect overnight.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — A natural gas outage affecting several East Austin blocks has prompted utility crews to shut off gas homes' meters overnight.
Texas Gas Service utility officials said the outage has affected several blocks in East Austin in an area east of Interstate 35, west of Mildred Street and south of Willow Street. Utility crew members are going to individual homes and businesses to turn off the meters.
Don't be alarmed if you see the utility crews on your property. They are wearing Texas Gas Service uniforms with the utility logo along with yellow safety vests. Crews can be seen working in the area around Chalmers Avenue and Holly streets.

As a result of the outage, residents there will have no natural gas service overnight. Utility officials plan to update affected residents on steps to get their service back operational.
"We appreciate your patience as we work to mitigate the issue," utility officials said.
