Pedestrian Killed In Apparent Hit-And-Run

EMS found male victim dead on the roadway.

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- A pedestrian hit by a vehicle on the East side was declared dead on the scene after first responders responded to the late-night collision.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said the body of a male victim was on the street in the 14300 block of Sandifer after they made the scene at 11:50 p.m. EMS officials believe the man was hit by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run.

In a live Twitter feed, official added the deceased male was the only victim of the collision. His identity has not been released.

The road fatality capped a deadly day on local roadways. Earlier, two people--a motorcyclist in his 20s and the motorist in his 50s--died in a North Austin collision in the 4800 block of West Howard Lane.
