Police to Give Gifts, Tell Christmas Tales to Children
Holiday effort aimed at forging ties with the community.

Austin Police Department officers are scheduled Friday to host a Christmas event at Booker T. Washington Terraces, complete with gifts and a story time for children living in the neighborhood public housing project.
“This event is important because it is helping build relationships with our community,’ said Officer Fausto Rodriguez, of APD’s Region 3. “This is done in many ways such as forming partnerships, collaborating, mentoring and spending time with our community—specifically our youth.”
The Dec. 18 festivities are scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the housing complex, located at 905 Bedford.
