Police ID 21-Year-Old Killed In East Austin Car Wreck
Juvenal Rubio Martinez was passenger in car that rolled over in Aug. 25 crash along 1500 block of East State Highway 71.
The incident dates to Aug. 25 when a 2004 green Ford Explorer Sport Trac was traveling eastbound along the 1500 block of East State Highway 71 just before 1:30 a.m.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing a rollover that killed the passenger at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. The name of the dead passenger was released by police: He was Juvenal Rubio Martinez, 21 years of age.

Police continue to investigate the case and ask anyone with information to call detectives at (512) 974-3761. Those with information also can submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
The deadly incident marked Austin’s 45th fatal traffic crash of 2018, resulting in 46 fatalities so far this year. At this last year, there were 41 traffic crashes and 43 traffic fatalities.
