Police ID Homicide Victim Found Dying Early Saturday In East Austin
Brandon D. Grant, 30, was killed in the 7400 block of Johnny Morris Road just before 2 a.m.

East Austin, TX -- Police identified the victim of a homicide that occurred this past Saturday in east Austin.
Brandon D. Grant, 30, was found dead at about 1:15 a.m. along the 7400 block of Johnny Morris Road. On July 16, police responded to reports of a man found on the pavement there with obvious trauma.
Upon arriving at the scene, Austin-Travis County EMS officials attempted life-saving measures to save Grant, but he was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m. A subsequent autopsy performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide.

A suspect has yet to be identified, and detectives are asking for the public's assistance to find the culprit. Anyone with information as to the suspect's whereabouts are urged to call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or text "Tip 103" + your message to CRIMES.
The death represents the 15th homicide of the year in Austin, police noted.
