Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In East Austin Weekend Crash
Starlite Stewart, 29, is said to have run a red light at Comal and 7th streets before colliding with a car on Sunday.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police on Wednesday identified the motorcyclist who was killed after colliding with a car Sunday in East Austin.
The incident occurred at around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at the intersection of East 7th and Comal streets. Police said a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Comal Street when the driver, who had a green light, entered the intersection to turn left onto 7th Street. It's then that a Triumph motorcycle ran the red light, hitting the left front side of the car, police said.
The motorcyclist, Starlite Stewart, 29, was transported to Dell Seton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

The case is still under investigation, police said. Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at (512) 974-4424. Those with information also can submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
Police noted the incident marked Austin’s 55th fatal traffic crash and the 57th fatality of 2017. At this time in 2016, there were 59 fatal traffic crashes and 60 traffic fatalities, police added.
