Police ID Suspect, Victim Of East Austin Homicide That Took Place In Broad Daylight [UPDATED]
A fight among a crowd at the 6200 block of Loyola Lane had broken out before shots were fired, police say.

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- Police on Tuesday identified both the victim and suspect in a shooting incident that left a man dead the previous day.
Police found Alfred Matthews, 28, on the ground with a gunshot wound at the Park Plaza apartments in the 6200 block of Loyola Lane on Monday. The incident occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m., when police received calls of a shooting.
Matthews was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge, where he was pronounced dead at 12:12 p.m., police said.

The suspect has been identified as Zachary Daniel Payne, 21, who fled the scene but later captured.
An autopsy performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner ruled the death as a homicide. Murder charges now are pending against Payne.

East Austin, TX -- Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday morning.
The deadly incident occurred in the 6200 block of Loyola Lane at around 11:30 a.m. Police got a call about a group of men and women fighting in the parking lot just before the shooting, KVUE reported. A man thought to be in his 20s died at the scene after a shooting occurred by a suspect who fled and is still at large and believed to be still armed.
Police said they are reviewing security video and interviewing residents at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. A description of the suspect or the identity of the deceased have yet to be disclosed.
