Police Release Surveillance Footage Of East Austin Homicide Suspect: VIDEO

AUSTIN, TX -- Police have released a surveillance video of a suspect in an East Austin homicide last week in East Austin.
Police responded to the 5800 block of Sweeney Circle just after 3 a.m. on June 16 after receiving calls of a shooting. By the time police arrived, the 23-year-old victim -- identified as Gerald Leron Williams -- had been transported to a hospital by an acquaintance, but died shortly after arriving for treatment of his wounds.
Police have searched for a suspect ever since the shooting occurred. In the hopes of finding locating him, police released surveillance footage from the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. It shows the suspect walking along the complex before and after the shooting.

Police said the victim was shot numerous times by the man seen in the footage, a tall, black man either in his 20s or 30s. He's of medium build and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and long shorts.
Capital Area Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” + your message to CRIMES.
