Police Seek East Austin Shooter
Incident at East Riverside Drive and Willow Creek Drive leave victim shot in the abdomen with potentially life-threatening injuries.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police continued a search for a gunman who critically wounded a man in East Austin Friday night.
Police got the call just after 8 p.m. and were dispatched to the intersection of East Riverside Drive and Willow Creek Drive. Upon arrival, police were told the injured man walking into a tunnel. Reaching the site, police found a group of people surrounding the victim, described as a man in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The man was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said.

According to witnesses, the incident began as an altercation before escalating to the shooting. According to police in a subsequent press briefing, the victim had entered the tunnel seeking help. The suspect, meanwhile, was last seen running south through a nearby parking lot, police said.
The suspect is described as a man in his mid-20s standing at about six feet, two inches. He has a thin build and black hair braided into dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing wearing dark clothing.
