Elderly East Austin Man Who'd Gone Missing Found Safe
Cleo Perkins had last been seen along the 3300 block of Kay Street before alert was issued, but police say he has been located.

Update: An elderly man reported missing in East Austin on Friday, Jan. 12 has been found safe, police said.
Police had issued an alert asking for help from the public in finding Cleo Perkins, 86, who had last been seen along the 3300 block of Kay Street on Friday morning. Hours after issuing the alert, police said the man was found safe.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police seek help from the public in locating a missing elderly man from East Austin.
Cleo Perkins, 86, was reported missing on the morning of Friday, Jan. 12. He was last seen along the 3300 block of Kay Street at around 9:30 a.m. Concern for his well-being is heightened given his advanced age and medical conditions.

Perkins is described as a black man standing at five feet, seven inches in height and weighing 155 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes and walks with a slouch. He was last seen wearing a VA baseball cap, gray and black long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or the Missing Persons Unit between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 512-974-5250. Police released a photo of Perkins in the hopes that someone might recognize him and notify police as to his whereabouts.
