Police Seek Help Identifying East Austin Robbery Suspect

The woman is accused of aggravated robbery after entering a Chevron station while allegedly wielding a weapon, police say.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman they say robbed an East Austin business while threatening employees with a weapon.

The Austin Police Department issued a call for help locating the suspect via a news release accompanied with surveillance camera images of the suspect on Friday. The case dates to Dec. 31, when a woman entered a Chevron convenience store at 7801 FM 969 around 11:20 p.m., police said.

Police didn't say what type of weapon the woman wielded while allegedly robbing the place, but said she wielded the implement in a threatening manner during what they describe as an aggravated robbery. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The woman is described as Hispanic, standing at about 5 feet, two inches in height with a thin build. At the time of the alleged robbery, she was wearing a striped T-shirt, brown jacket and blue jeans. She was said to be driving a white Honda Accord distinguished by an after-market exhaust.
