Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver That Left Five-Year-Old Injured In East Austin [Video]

The Jan. 22 incident left a boy injured after driver plowed into him as he scurried across the street trying to reach convenience store.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday reached out to the public for help in identifying the culprit in a hit-and-run incident that left a five-year-old injured.

Last Monday, Jan. 23, at around 7:10 a.m. Austin police responded to a failure-to-stop-and-render aid call along the 35o0 block of Webberville Rd. The victim was crossing the street en route to a convenience store when the car struck him, sending the boy into the air.

Police said the suspect sped off and fled the scene. The car is described as a silver/gray vehicle, possibly a mid-late 90’s four-door Honda Accord.

A nearby surveillance camera captured the moment the car struck the child. Watch it below, but be warned some might find it difficult for some to watch.
