Police Seek Suspect In Fatal East Austin Shooting
Juan Carlos Gomez, 32, of Mexico was gunned down as he drove to a convenience store to buy ice, according to sheriff's office.

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — Police are asking for the public's assistance in finding the person who fatally shot a Mexican national while the victim ran an errand at a convenience store.
The incident occurred at around 8:43 p.m. on July 20, when deputies responded to an assist EMS call along the 9300 block of FM 969. Upon arrival, police found Juan Carlos Gomez, 32, of Mexico with a gunshout wound on the ground near his vehicle.
Deputies administered CPR on the man until medics arrived to transport the man to Dell Seton Medical Center, but Gomez was pronounced dead at 10:13 p.m., according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office.

Police said Gomez departed his residence at approximately 8 p.m. to buy ice at a local convenience store in a white, four-door truck. He was wearing a white t-shirt and grey shorts. One witness told detectives he saw a white passenger vehicle chasing Gomez’s truck shortly before he was shot and a second witness reported seeing a white car speeding away from the area, police said.
