Police Seek Tips Related To Dead Body Found In East Austin

The body of Magdaleno Benitez Flores, 25, was found along the 5000 block of Alf Avenue this week, and cops call his death 'suspicious.'

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public to help solve a suspicious death case in East Austin.

Police on Thursday (Oct. 19) responded to the 5000 block of Alf Avenue at around 8:22 a.m. after reports of a dead man discovered by MasTec utility workers near the Kingsbury solar station. Given the trauma found on the body, the case is being investigated as a suspicious death, police said in a news advisory.

The victim has since been identified as Magdaleno Benitez Flores, who was 25 years old at the time of his death. According to information provided by police, the man had just turned 25 a little over two weeks before his death, on Oct. 2. Police said he had been decomposing for several days at the site before being found.
