Barricaded Person In East Austin Brings Out SWAT Team (UPDATED)
Police were working into early Saturday after reports Friday evening of a possibly armed man holed up in Airport Boulevard apartment.

EAST AUSTIN, TEXAS — A police SWAT team was dispatched to an East Austin apartment complex Friday night in response to a barricaded man believed to have a firearm, according to reports.
Early Monday just past midnight, Senior Police Officer Marcos Johnson told reporters that the incident began with a call to police placed around 9:30 p.m. about an armed woman at an apartment along the 1100 block of Airport Boulevard. When police arrived, a woman exited the building without incident, but she informed police that a possibly armed man remained in the apartment.
Well past midnight, a heavy police presence remained at the scene as officers continued to convince the man to exit the apartment peacefully, Johnson said. Nearby residents were urged to stay indoors and avoid the area altogether until the situation resolves itself.
