Rare Snake Captured At Manor High School

The pattern-less diamondback rattlesnake was found at Manor High School.

MANOR, TX — Snakes have kept the Manor Police Department very busy this past month. The department has removed more than 60 venomous snakes around town, which is an increase from the year prior, Ashley Killgore, animal control officer, told Patch.

The latest snake captured was a rare pattern-less diamondback rattlesnake found at Manor High School early Monday afternoon. The snake has a mutation similar to humans born as albino, Killgore said, citing a conversation she had with an expert from Snake Farm.

Killgore attributed the increased number of snakes to "good weather this year, a lot of rain, and warm temperatures."

"It was a good breeding season. Most of these have been juveniles," Killgore said.

A mature female snake can have 15-25 offspring at a time, Killgore said.
