Twitter user @NoelDeric posted footage of the confrontation, which occurred Monday at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Slaughter lane around 12:30 p.m.

There’s no word on what may have started the altercation, but the ensuing fight is rather violent. The Twitter user started filming as soon as an occupant of one of the vehicles involved exited his car while armed with a baseball bat.

But then the would-be assailant returns to his vehicle, realizing that, in his rage, he forgot to put his truck in park. Once he engages the gear, he returns to the object of his ire.

That’s when the two involved in the dispute exchange words. The other driver retrieves what appears to be a long, wooden pole from the trunk of his car as a weapon against the baseball bat.

And then, they wield their makeshift weapons against each other while exchanging further words. After a brief battle of wooden weaponry, they both return to their vehicles and leave the scene.

Fox7 reported that police didn’t make the scene of the confrontation, and no serious injuries resulted from the battle.

Fatalities caused by road rage are on the rise nationally, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Officers reported 26 fatal crashes in America caused by road rage in 2004. By 2013, that number was up to 247 and has increased each year all but twice during that time period.
