Several 'Coffee With A Cop' Gatherings Scheduled In April Throughout Austin

The regular gatherings enable residents to exchange insights with their local police in a casual and relaxed setting.

AUSTIN, TX — Think of your friendly neighborhood police officer as your coffee cop. That's not a typo: Several "Coffee with a Cop" gatherings are scheduled in April, yielding a chance to meet with local law enforcement officials in a casual setting.

"These events are a chance for Austinites to meet officers who patrol their areas of town and exchange thoughts and ideas in an informal setting," police said in a press advisory. The regular gatherings also offer a chance for residents to air their concerns or to simply shake a cop's hand to say thanks for the service.

The April gatherings will take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 4, 2017 (Region 1 – Central West and North Central District Representatives,) McDonald’s Capital Plaza, 5451 N. IH 35, 7-9 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 6, 2017 (Region 3 – Central East and South Central District Representatives,) HEB, 2508 E. Riverside Dr., 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 6, 2017 (Region 4 – Southeast and Southwest District Representatives,) McDonald’s, 1209 Barton Springs Rd., 7 – 9 a.m.
  • Friday, April 7, 2017 (Region 2 – Northeast and Northwest District Representatives,) It’s a Grind Coffee Shop, 4005 W. Parmer Lane, 7 – 9 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 27, 2017 (DTAC - Downtown District Representatives,) Texas Coffee Traders, 1400 E. 4th St., 7:30 – 9 a.m.
