Tap Into Your Creativity: Beginners Taught The Basics Of Ceramic

Ceramic 101 workshop offers beginners hands-on experience into the creative art of ceramic-making.

AUSTIN, TX -- The start of a new year signals a great opportunity to try new things and discover interests you may not have known you had. If it offers a way to tap into your creativity, even better. CRAFT is hosting a beginner-friendly workshop to help you learn the basics of ceramic-making on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 6:30 PM - 8 PM.

The workshop will teach attendees about clay types, glazing, firing, and best practices, followed by the no-experience-needed pinch pot technique. After making a pinch bowl, the workshop will move on to vases and conclude with decorating and glazing. Completed pieces will be fired to retain their shape, become durable and food-safe and may be available for pick up at CRAFT two weeks following the class date. Attendees will be able to gain hands-on experience in ceramic-making techniques and use their skills to continue creating pieces to admire.
