Texas Transportation Officials Schedule Latest Round Of SH 71 Closures
NIghtly closures of east and west lanes to occur from May 22-29 as work progresses on key artery.
State transportation officials have scheduled multiple lane closures along SH 71 starting Monday (May 22), as progress on improving the key artery continues.
Work continues on improving the roadway that's the main connector into the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to enhance that access. Additionally, SH 71 is being revamped to provide ease of access to surrounding communities, especially Bastrop.
The latest spurts of work on the artery will take place from May 22-29 between Ross Road and U.S. 183.

The times for these closures are outlined below:
- Eastbound lanes - Monday through Thursday - 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Westbound lanes - Monday through Thursday - 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Eastbound & westbound lanes - Friday - 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.
- Eastbound & westbound lanes - Saturday - 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.
- Eastbound & westbound lanes - Sunday - 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
