Two People Shot In Eastern Travis County

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Two people were injured after a shooting in the eastern part of Travis County on Friday night, the sheriff's office said.

Travis County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Engelmann Lane and Cameron Road, near Lake Pflugerville Park, just past 9:30 p.m. on Friday, officials said. Once there, deputies found two people had been shot.

The sheriff's office sought to assuage the public in conveying the incident appears to be an isolated one, meaning that the people involved likely were acquaintances targeting each other rather than randomly shooting.

It wasn't clear late Friday close to midnight if anybody was in custody.

"I did not put out a [press] release on this incident, and I won't unless one of the parties passes away," Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kristen Dark wrote in an email when Patch contacted her for details.
