Upcoming Amateur Boxing Event To Benefit Austin PAL Nonprofit

Boxing matches to benefit PAL, which seeks to assist youth in developing life skills through sportsmanship.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police Activities League(PAL) officials will be hosting an amateur boxing family event next month where top youth pugilists will take part.

The event scheduled Saturday, April 1, is open to the public with at the Pan Am Rec Center, 2100 E. 3rd St. Entry fee is $5 for adults, and children under the age of 10 get in free. The first bout is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The nonprofit Austin PAL Boxing is sponsored by the Police Activities League of Austin (PAL) as a youth development program, with police officers and volunteers helping youth develop positive sportsmanship and other beneficial life skills through sports and activities. PAL programs are free for all youth.
