Woman Charged With Stabbing Elderly East Austin Couple

EAST AUSTIN, TX — A recently released arrest affidavit yields more details into a woman's alleged stabbing attack against an elderly couple who were left bloodied in their East Austin home, according to a published report.

The incident dates to May 2 when the victims were in their home along the 5400 block of Claymoor Drive when a woman later identified as Morina Lenae Haywood, 36, apprahed the elderly man as he worked on his vehicle in the garage, according to an arrest affidavit referenced by KXAN.

Asked if she needed something, the woman said she had a rash that needed salve. according to the report. The man told police he told her she didn't have any and returned to working on his car. A few minutes later, the man said he was hit in the back and saw the woman stabbing him when he turned around, according to the report.

The victim then yelled out to his wife who came out to the garage only to be stabbed herself in th face, nexck, upper back and arm, according to the affidavit.

Police found Haywood a short time later driving erratically before being arrested, and is a suspect in two other, separate stabbing incidents, according to the report. She is being held at the Travis County Jail with combined bail of $530,000.
