Woman Dies In East Austin From Suspected Drug Overdose
Police originally labeled the death as suspicious before realizing it was the result of an OD.

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- Police responded to reports of a drug overdose early Friday that left a woman dead.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials said they sent medics to 300 Chicon St. shortly after 3 a.m. Friday morning. A woman was found on the street and was initially categorized as a suspicious death by police, conveying their assessment via social media.
But police later said the death was no longer considered suspicious but the result of a drug overdose.

EMS officials described the deceased as a woman in her 30s. She was in cardiac arrest when medics arrived before being taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge, where she died a short time later.
