EAST AUSTIN, TX -- A woman was seriously injured Wednesday after being hit by a car while she was sitting on a bench in East Austin, according to emergency officials.Austin-Travis County EMS officials said they were called to the scene at Holly and Anthony streets shortly after 2 p.m. Once there, they found a woman in her 50s with serious but not life-threatening injuries. EMS officials transported the woman to University Medical Center Brackenridge.The motorist who hit the woman stayed on the scene after the accident, according to police. An investigation into what may have caused the collision continues.
