Lincoln Park adds Chicano Park to name; city opens Adopt-A-Street program (elpasomatters.org) — El Paso residents will soon see Lincoln Park officially renamed Lincoln Park – El Paso's Chicano Park, recognizing its cultural murals and popular lowrider event. The city also opened a public Adopt-A-Street program for neighborhood cleanups, while County Commissioners approved a new hospital district tax rate and multibillion-dollar budget that slightly increases annual taxes on the average-value home.
   

2. Two injured in a crash on Transmountain and Alcan in Northeast El Paso (cbs4local.com) — Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Woodrow Bean Transmountain and Alcan Street in Northeast El Paso, one with serious injuries and one with minor injuries. El Paso police and fire crews responded around 3:19 p.m., and Special Traffic Investigators are examining what led to the collision affecting this busy corridor.
   

3. El Paso school district shares financial updates and concerns (kfoxtv.com) — El Paso ISD says its finances are improving after a June financial emergency, helped by a $3 million property sale, stronger football game revenues, and rehiring 100 employees. Still, the district warns its health plan is overspending and enrollment is nearly 500 students below projections, and plans a public financial dashboard so El Paso families can track key numbers.
   

4. El Paso City Council completes annual evaluations of City Manager and City Attorney (kfoxtv.com) — El Paso's mayor and City Council have finished annual performance reviews for City Manager Dionne Mack and City Attorney Karla Nieman, giving both strong marks while setting new expectations. City leaders emphasized fiscal discipline, risk management, and transparent, accountable leadership as priorities tied to the FY2027–28 strategic plan, saying the evaluations are meant to keep services efficient and responsive for El Paso residents.
   

5. National Food Bank Day brings attention to food insecurity in El Paso (kvia.com) — El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is spotlighting how nearly 40% of El Paso County residents face food insecurity and inviting locals to help during National Food Bank Day and Hunger Action Month. The group runs the regional food bank and distributes food through its Mercado, Food FARMacy, and partner churches, schools, and nonprofits, and it's asking residents to volunteer, donate, or organize food drives.
