Judge blocks Trump's efforts to block El Paso County federal funding (texarkanagazette.com) — El Paso County just won a major federal court case protecting more than $1.9 million in local anti-terrorism and first-responder funding from being tied to new Trump administration election rules. A judge in Washington, D.C., ruled FEMA and DHS acted unlawfully by trying to condition Homeland Security grants on controversial voting changes, allowing El Paso to keep its current election practices while preserving critical public safety dollars.
4. Deadly weekend on El Paso roads continues with fatal motorcycle crash on Westside (ktsm.com) — A deadly weekend on El Paso roads has left at least five people dead and several others injured, including a fatal motorcycle crash late Saturday on North Desert Boulevard. Crashes on the Westside, Lower Valley, and far East El Paso are keeping investigators busy and highlight the need for extra caution while driving locally.
