Award-winning author & veteran Captain Mamá will inspire families bilingually at the Holloman Air Force Base 2026 Legacy of Liberty Air Show on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, 2026.

Woman-veteran-owned independent educational publisher Gracefully Global Group announces that Founder Graciela Tiscareño-Sato will be entertaining and inspiring generations at Holloman's much-anticipated Legacy of Liberty Air Show in the STEM hangar, April 18–19. It will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.

WHO:

El Paso–born Air Force aviation veteran, entrepreneur, and award-winning author Graciela Tiscareño-Sato is the first Latina aviator in the U.S. Air Force to be awarded an Air Medal for combat air operations (over Iraq). Known as Captain Mama / Capitán Mamá in national airshow and school assembly circles, Graciela is a bilingual living-history STEM engagement performer who shares her unusual daughter-of-Mexican-immigrants-to-military-aviator journey through UC Berkeley, along with resources for how students can launch their own aviation careers too.

WHAT:

See this TV feature:

From an airshow to get an idea of the colorful, kid-centered, action-filled story that journalists can capture at the STEM expo and airshow.

The Captain Mama booth will be a bilingual author meet-and-greet with flight suit dress-up. Captain Mama offers kids and teens a chance to jump into one of her flight suits, answers questions about scholarships, college, military aviation service, and more. The author will be at the Captain Mama booth engaging with the public bilingually.

Graciela attended U.C. Berkeley as a four-year AFROTC scholarship cadet and wants many more young Latinas and Latinos to know about this valuable opportunity to become a first-generation college graduate and serve in uniform afterward as an officer and possibly as an aviator.

WHY:

Because military service has always been a huge part of Hispanic heritage, Captain Mama’s story represents that educated women bravely and competently serve this nation in difficult, technical, and exciting careers during peacetime and wartime.

Parents will capture the colorful action of children wearing real flight suits worn by an aviation veteran and watch their kids get further inspired to fly. Photos in a flight suit and with an award-winning bilingual author make for long-lasting memories from the airshow.

Educators: Come meet a Texas-born bilingual Latina military aviation veteran who’s created an award-winning small business to uplift communities in two languages and help millions more Americans fall in love with aviation and military service: Gracefully Global Group.

Tagline: “We’re in the business of inspiración.”
