'Destination El Paso' Earns Destination Marketing Accreditation
The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a multitude of mandatory and voluntary standards.
From the City of El Paso: Destination El Paso is excited to announce they have been awarded with the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) seal by Destinations International in recognition of the organization's commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standard for performance and accountability of destination organizations around the world. This accreditation decision indicates that Destination El Paso has satisfied the rigorous standards set forth by the professional destination marketing community and has developed strategies for the direction of their destination and the policies and procedures to safeguard the use of public dollars.
“Accreditation confirms what has been evident to El Pasoans and hundreds of thousands of visitors annually—that Destination El Paso is operating at the highest standard to ensure memorable experiences that drive our local economy.” said Tracey Jerome, Managing Director- Museums & Cultural Affairs, Libraries & Tourism for the City of El Paso.
“Achieving accreditation was an intensive yet productive and rewarding process. While Destination El Paso has long been measuring beyond the outlined standards in the DMAP program, completing the accreditation process has provided invaluable insight as to what top-tier Destination Marketing Organization standards are across the map and how we can improve our position as a leader in Convention and Sports Events destinations.” said Bryan Crowe, General Manager, Destination El Paso.

The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a multitude of mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain this momentous achievement. The standards cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development and research. Destination El Paso joins the ranks of over 200 destination organizations who have obtained DMAP recognition. Destinations International will announce all new DMAP recipients at this years’ Destinations International Annual Convention in St. Louis, MO from July 23-26, 2019.
