• Argyle to gain 62 acres from land swap in Flower Mound - Cross Timbers Gazette Southern Denton County Flower Mound (crosstimbersgazette.com) — Flower Mound is giving Argyle about 8.3 acres so the Monarch retail development on I-35W can fully build out, and in return will receive just over 62 acres of largely floodplain land. Argyle plans to preserve most of its new acreage as open space or town facilities, while Flower Mound gains a key piece for new big-box and home improvement stores that could reshape shopping options nearby.
• Plans for brighter lights at Valley Creek sport complex dimmed by Flower Mound P&Z - Cross Timbers Gazette Southern Denton County Flower Mound (crosstimbersgazette.com) — Flower Mound's Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended denying Valley Creek Church's request to more than double lighting levels at its planned athletic complex on Dixon Lane, citing neighbor concerns and precedent. The proposal now heads to Town Council, where a supermajority would be needed to override P&Z and decide how bright the new pickleball and sports courts can be near nearby neighborhoods.
• DFW Volleyball Scores – Sept. 29 (gmsportsmedia.com) — Flower Mound High's volleyball team swept Denton Guyer in three sets, 25-14, 25-7, 25-13, as part of a busy night of DFW district play on Sept. 29. The roundup also tracks key results for Marcus, Lewisville, Hebron and many other area schools, helping Flower Mound fans see where their teams stand in district races.
