The Forney Economic Development Corporation kicked off its Innovation Workshop Series this week with Automation or Extinction on April 27. Here's what was discussed and how you can attend the next sessions.
The corporation recapped the event in a Monday social media post. The post describes the first workshop in the series, Automation or Extinction: How North Texas Manufacturers Stay Competitive in the Next 5 Years.
Robotopia's Terrence Southern, a robotics engineer, spoke at the event. He addressed the need for businesses, from the manufacturing sector to construction, to incorporate robotics to remain competitive in the modern economy. Additionally, he spoke about the importance of learning robotics to workforce development.
This was just the first session of the Forney Tech and Innovation Workshop Series. The next session, From Manual to Machine: A Practical Roadmap to Robotics Without Breaking Your Business, will take place on Monday, May 4, from 8:30-10 a.m., at the Forney EDC Business Center and Office, 210 S. Bois D'Arc St.
Register at the QR code on the flyer included in the social media post. Registration is free but required for attendance.
There will be two additional sessions later in May. On May 11, the EDC is hosting Robots, AI, & Jobs: What's Really Changing—and How to Win in the New Workforce Economy. The final event is the North Texas Manufacturing Future Forum: Robotics, AI, and the Next Industrial Shift, to be held on May 18 at 10:30 a.m.
