The Ranch Road project was completed in 2024, but remained under the contractor's responsibility while the City of Forney worked through a dispute over roadway defects.

During that time, the median landscaping was not maintained. Fortunately, that dispute is now being resolved, and cleanup efforts have begun.

According to the city, the contractor will address roadway defects, and city staff have started restoring the median landscaping. That work will begin with clearing overgrowth to improve visibility and safety along the corridor.

"Thank you for your patience as we work to bring this project to a proper close," the post states.

Also this week, the city congratulated Greg Helm on being sworn in for a second full term representing Place 6 on the Forney City Council. He received the majority of votes in the May 2 General Election.

And, on May 11, the Forney Police Department celebrated the promotion of Detective Jordan Bailey to the rank of sergeant. Baily has a vast amount of knowledge and leadership experience to help guide his new shift and serve the City of Forney.
