1. CRDAMC to transition Heights patients to other Ft. Hood clinics (fox44news.com) — If you get care through the Harker Heights Medical Home, your primary care will shift to clinics on Fort Hood this October while that facility's climate issues are evaluated. CRDAMC says services will continue, but urges patients to update contact details so they don't miss reassignment notices.
2. CTC Horticulture students help Ft. Hood Soldiers develop healthy habits (fox44news.com) — Soldiers at Fort Hood are teaming up with Central Texas College horticulture students to build raised-bed gardens and learn how to grow and cook fresh foods right on post. The new Operation Iron Harvest program links nutrition, performance, and readiness while giving students hands-on experience supporting the Fort Hood military community.
3. Harker Heights Training Center brings together veterans and clean energy careers (kdhnews.com) — A Harker Heights training center is expanding hands-on solar and battery programs to help Fort Hood service members transition into well-paying clean energy careers without leaving Central Texas. Local leaders, industry groups, and employers are aligning the curriculum with national competency standards so veterans' skills translate across states while strengthening the long-term workforce and economy around the base.
4. Former Ft Hood soldier sentenced in hacking, extortion case (everythinglubbock.com) — A former Fort Hood soldier has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for a long-running cybercrime scheme involving hacked telecom data, blackmail, and attempted extortion of more than $1 million. Investigators say much of the activity happened while he was on active duty, with multiple federal agencies involved in the case.
