34 Harmony Fort Worth Seniors Earn On-the-Spot Admission to UTA

Thirty-four seniors at Harmony School of Innovation-Fort Worth received on-the-spot admission to The University of Texas at Arlington during a college application drive Sept. 21, turning years of preparation and college planning into an immediate opportunity.

The event brought the UTA admissions team to the Harmony campus, where 125 students participated and received application support. Students who applied received an admissions decision during the event and an application fee waiver.

The opportunity reflects Harmony Public Schools-North Texas’ focus on preparing students for college and career through strong academics, STEM-focused learning and personalized college and career support.

"Being able to offer students an admission decision right on their campus is such a meaningful experience because they get to see that their hard work is paying off in real time," said Kattya Cepeda of UTA admissions. "Our partnership with Harmony allows us to meet students where they are and provide support throughout their college journey."

For Harmony, the event represents the impact of the preparation students receive throughout high school, from STEM learning and academic support to guidance from counselors and college and career coordinators.

"We want our students to see college as a real and achievable next step," said Area Superintendent Harun Karan. "Seeing students receive admission decisions in real time is a proud moment for our students, families and staff. It shows what can happen when students have the preparation and support they need to move forward."

The event is part of the ongoing partnership between Harmony Public Schools-North Texas and UTA to connect students with higher education opportunities and support their transition from high school to college.

Harmony Public Schools is currently accepting applications for both studentsand team members.
