The city said a 90% release rate would not have been possible without strong community partnerships, including those with Operation Kindness and Spay Neuter Network. The organizations help place animals that need specialized care, support adoptions when shelters are over capacity, and provide affordable spay and neuter services that help reduce pet overpopulation in the community.
This fiscal year, the Fort Worth shelter has seen thousands of shelter animals adopted. In the proclamation, City Council recognized staff and leadership for their continued commitment to saving lives.
As the year continues, the shelter plans to launch new programs aimed at strengthening animal welfare services and supporting pets and their owners across the city.
