Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is celebrating the dedication of its late K9 ambassador Henry by hosting a summer mega adoption event.
The City of Fort Worth published a blog post about the event on Tuesday.
According to the release, the event will take place at Henry's Animal Campus (351 Hillshire Dr., Haslet, TX, 76052) on Saturday, June 13 from 2-6 p.m. A free vaccination clinic will take place between noon-2 p.m.
The event will mark the official renaming of the city's north animal campus in honor of Fort Worth's late K9 ambassador Henry. He served as a tireless advocate for shelter pets across the Metroplex for 13 years, helping raise awareness for animal welfare and making a lasting impact on the lives of countless animals.
Henry started his service journey in 2011 when he arrived at the Fort Worth shelter in need of medical care. After being nursed back to health, Henry became the recognizable face of the city's shelter program, visiting schools, hospitals, and community events. He helped raise $1 million for the construction of a new medical treatment ward at the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Adoption Center.
During the June event, families can tour the campus, meet adoptable pets, enjoy refreshments and games, visit the educational kids' corner, and more.
