The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office is preparing for a job fair to take place at its new training facility on June 11. Here are the details.
The sheriff's office posted to social media about the job fair on Thursday.
According to the post, "We're two weeks out. The TCSO Career Fair is coming up on June 11, and we're excited to host it at our brand-new, state-of-the-art training facility."
The post continues, "Whether you're exploring a career in law enforcement or just looking for a fun, family-friendly event, you won't want to miss it."
The event will run from noon-3 p.m. Recruiters will be on-site to help expedite the detention officer hiring process.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Training Academy is where deputies, detention officers, and law enforcement throughout North Texas are educated. On average, the academy conducts eight detention officer trainee schools every year.
Detention officer trainee schools last six weeks and provide 200 hours of training. In addition to the basic county corrections course requirements, students learn direct inmate supervision techniques, communication skills, report writing, and defensive tactics.
All Texas peace officers must complete at least 40 hours of in-service training every two years. the academy's in-service training program keeps the department's peace officer's up-to-date with new information, tactics, and techniques.
