The Texas Department of Public Safety is offering a $6,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a wanted sex offender.
DPS put out the call for information in a Thursday social media post.
According to the post, 32-year-old Alejandro Villegas has been wanted out of Tarrant County since January for a probation violation stemming from a child sexual assault charge.
In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued a warrant for Villegas's arrest for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
In 2017, Villegas was arrested by the Arlington Police Department for robbery and subsequently received 36 months of probation. In 2022, he was arrested by the Grand Prairie Police Department for sexual assault of of a 16-year-old girl.
Villegas was convicted and received 96 months of probation. He is described as 6 feet tall and 185 pounds. He has ties to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas.

All tips are anonymous regardless of how they are submitted. To ensure anonymity, tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, and Criminal Illegal Immigrants List.
