Multiple families displaced, 1 firefighter injured in Fort Worth apartment fire (star-telegram.com) — An early-morning three-alarm fire at the Shadowwood Apartments in west Fort Worth has displaced multiple families and sent at least one firefighter to the hospital for smoke inhalation, with Red Cross assistance on the way. More than 30 fire units responded, and officials say the situation is still developing, while a separate south Fort Worth house fire late Monday also displaced three adults and injured two firefighters.
   

3. Fort Worth ISD principal placed on leave of absence, reasons unknown (star-telegram.com) — Families at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School in Fort Worth are starting the year under new leadership after principal Paola Rodriguez was placed on administrative leave for undisclosed personnel reasons. Fort Worth ISD has installed executive director Rian Townsend as acting principal and says its priority is maintaining a safe, academically focused environment while declining to say if this case is linked to another recent staff leave.
   

4. TCU Welcomes Record Undergraduate Enrollment, Largest Incoming Class in University History (fortworthbusiness.com subscription) — Texas Christian University's Fort Worth campus just welcomed more than 11,000 undergrads, including a record 2,800-plus first-year students, marking the largest incoming class in its history. To handle the growth, TCU is adding thousands of new beds, expanding parking and emergency facilities, and launching major scholarship and research initiatives that will shape campus life and the surrounding community.
   

5. Industry Ag News 8/25 (agwired.com) — Fort Worth will host the 2026 Sustainable Agriculture Summit on November 18–19 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, with early registration discounts available through August 31. The broader industry roundup also covers national ag leadership changes, new awards, and major commodity board initiatives shaping food, fuel, and farm markets.
