Veteran Texas firefighter named interim fire chief (firerescue1.com) — Fort Worth's City Council has named Assistant Fire Chief James Horton as interim fire chief starting September 1, following Raymond Hill's retirement. Horton, a 28-year department veteran with a Ph.D. in urban and public administration, previously helped integrate MedStar EMS and expand firefighter staffing, and will guide the department while a national search proceeds.

Fort Worth Police Arrest 2 Men In Facebook Marketplace Armed Robberies (klif.com) — Fort Worth police arrested two men suspected in a string of armed robberies tied to Facebook Marketplace meetups and recovered stolen property after coordinated investigative work.
