Ex-Fort Worth police officer accused of sexually harassing a minor while on force (star-telegram.com) — A former Fort Worth police officer from the department's 156th academy class has been charged in Tarrant County with online solicitation of a minor and official oppression for allegedly seeking sexual favors from someone under 17 while on the force. Grand Prairie police arrested him in August, and city officials confirm he resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department earlier this year.
   

2. Residents urge Fort Worth to preserve natural setting in Chapel Hill Park plans (fortworthreport.org) — Far north Fort Worth neighbors are helping shape the future of the planned 68-acre Chapel Hill Park, pushing city staff to preserve its natural character while adding trails, shaded gathering spots, and nature-focused play areas. Funding is still uncertain and construction is likely three to five years away, but residents can continue influencing the design through online surveys and upcoming public meetings.

Other parents and PTA leaders from Fort Worth schools say they share concerns about heavy PowerPoint use, overemphasis on testing, and limited dialogue, and are urging more families to get involved and speak up.
   

4. City Center Fort Worth will no longer host annual 9/11 Tower Climb (wfaa.com subscription) — City Center Fort Worth has decided to stop hosting its annual 9/11 Tower Climb, citing recent property improvements that complicate safe, smooth logistics for the stair-climbing memorial event. Organizers haven't said whether the tribute might move elsewhere in Fort Worth, but they emphasized continued commitment to community events honoring those lost on September 11.
   

5. Rockwell assumes deputy commander role for USACE's Southwestern Division (dredgewire.com) — A key Army Corps of Engineers leadership role now directly affects the Fort Worth district, as Col.
