Local donors, including Fort Worth dental professionals, have helped the veteran with care and support, while book proceeds will aid animal and service-dog nonprofits, including one helping a Fort Worth child.

Ross Fire Near Fort Worth Remains One of North Texas' Largest Recorded Wildfires at 90,400 Acres, With Crews Still Battling Hotspots Two Weeks After It Started (parktelegraph.com) — Two weeks after the Ross Fire ignited west of Fort Worth, crews are still battling hotspots across 90,400 acres in Palo Pinto and Jack counties, with containment at about 57%. The prolonged Dallas-Fort Worth drought, triple-digit heat and shifting winds are complicating efforts, while smoke and haze have periodically reduced air quality for residents and kept officials urging vigilance around evacuations and road closures.
   

5. Will High-Tech Gondolas Come to Dallas-Fort Worth? (knue.com) — Transportation planners are exploring futuristic autonomous gondolas as a possible new way to move people across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, potentially easing traffic for Fort Worth commuters. A company called Swyft Cities has pitched self-propelled, cable-based cabins, and regional officials have discussed identifying the most congested areas where a first project could eventually be tested.
